Batesburg-Leesville Mayor

David W. Bouknight led the race receiving 42.25% of votes cast, with Steven “Steve” Cain following with 29.14% of votes cast. 

Greg Moseley received 18.31% of votes cast and Larry McConnaughhay earned 10.21%. ..

Voters chose new and returning faces in 2025 Lexington County General Election, unofficial results show

Batesburg-Leesville Mayor

David W. Bouknight led the race, receiving 42.25% of votes cast, with Steven “Steve” Cain having earned 29.14% of votes cast. 

Greg Moseley earned 18.31% of the votes cast and Larry McConnaughhay earned 10.21%. 

Bouknight did not receive more than 50% of the vote, so he and Cain will advance to a runoff in two weeks on Nov. 18.

Batesburg-Leesville Town Council District One

Bo Turner won with 74.24% of the votes cast. His opponent, Troy Teague, earned 19.23% of the votes cast. 

Batesburg-Leesville Town Council District Three

Stephen Cain won the District Three seat, receiving 69.72% of the vote. Tyler List earned 30.28% of the vote. 

According to the state election commission, if a candidate currently holds an expiring term and wins that seat as well as an additional seat that the candidate ran for, the candidate would choose which seat they want, and there would be a runoff for the other seat.

Batesburg-Leesville Town Council District Five 

Cathe Knox won with 52.53% of the vote. Opponent Sheba Williams earned 46.46% of the votes cast. 

Batesburg-Leesville Town Council District Seven

Joe Montgomery won with 71.88% of the vote. Natalie Gary earned 26.25%. 

Pelion Mayor

Frank Shumpert won the mayoral race with 60% of the vote. John Elkin earned 40%

Pelion Town Council

Jan Green (40.89%) and Starr H. Corley (36.80%) won the two council seats. 

Pine Ridge Mayor

Daniel Davis was re-elected as mayor, running unopposed and receiving 100% of the vote.

Pine Ridge Town Council

Michael H. Kyzer and Scott N. Simms won the two council seats. Kyzer earned 50%, and Simms earned 48.9%.

Springdale Mayor

Juston Ricard retained his seat as mayor, receiving 74.25% of the vote. Chad Owens earned 25.19%

Springdale Town Council

Jacob R. Wilkerson (32.23%), Tate Wilbourne (23.95%) and J. Kevin Reeley (27.64%) secured the three council seats.

Chapin Mayor

Bill Mitchell Jr. won the mayoral seat with 67.77% of the vote. 

Ron Colley earned 7.53%, while 24.40% of voters wrote in candidates. More information on that to come.

Chapin Town Council

Ainslee Bost (36.01%) and Warren C. Burritt Jr. (30.93%) won the two open council seats. 

Gilbert Mayor 

John Reeder III won re-election as mayor with 75% of the vote. 

Gilbert Town Council

There were 70 write-ins for the two town council seats. More information on that to come. 

Swansea Mayor

Doris W. Simmons won with 54.82% of the vote. Jerome D. Williams earned 45.18%. 

Swansea Town Council District One

There was a tie between the two contenders, Angie Alley and Linda Gail Butler, who both received 50% of the vote. A run-off between the two is set for Nov. 18.

Swansea Town Council District Two 

Melissa Williams won with 97.22% of the vote. 

West Columbia City Council District One 

Mike Green ran unopposed and earned 93.41% of the vote.

West Columbia  City Council District Three 

George M. Crowe earned 94.39% of the vote. Eleven write-ins were submitted. 

 West Columbia  City Council District Five

Phyllis Cookie Holmes won with 62.07%. Kiaun Jaquez Moore earned 31.03%, and Brad Robinson earned 6.03%

West Columbia City Council District Seven

Sarah Mattern won with 95.80% of the vote.

Cayce District One

Tiffany Aull won with 61.82% of the vote. Ron Wright earned 37.74%.

Cayce District Three

Alice Rose won with 54.28% of the vote.  Hunter Sox earned 45.43%.

Summit Town Council

Deborah S. Nye (45.57%) and Jennifer Seawright (31.91%) won the two council seats. 

Lexington Town Council

Incumbents Todd Carnes, Gavin James Smith and Ron Williams retained their seats.

Williams won 23.39% of the vote, Smith 23.09% and Carnes 22.63%.

Challengers Greg Brewer earned 17.26%, and Doug Leonard earned 12.52% of the votes.

Irmo Town Council

Incumbents Barb Waldman and Gabriel Penfield retained their seats on the town council. Waldman earned 36.83% of the vote, and Penfield earned 26.89%.
