Wagener man arrested after Lexington employee shot

Posted

Howard Fogle, 73, of Wagener has been charged after an employee was shot on Thursday, Oct. 10, at a Lexington County business.

Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon in the press release said the employee was struck multiple times and was transported to the hospital. However, the medical team has said the employee will recover from the wounds.

“Based on the interviews detectives conducted, they’ve determined Fogle went to a business on Pond Branch Road to ask about the turnaround time on a job the business was handling for him,” Koon said in the press release. “After some back and forth between Fogle and an employee, he pulled a pistol and fired at the employee.”

The entire incident was recorded on a security camera and after the shooting, Fogle went back to his home.

Aiken County deputies and Wagener police officers located Fogle in his home and arrested him.

Fogle is currently being held at the Lexington County Detention Center and is charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
