Posted

A domestic dispute in West Columbia ended with one of the parties charged with attempted murder.

Ashley Nicole Stroman, 24, is accused of shooting at her boyfriend, firing multiple shots at him Feb. 23 as attempted to leave the home they share during a fight, according to a release from the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department.

“Stroman pistol-whipped the man before she shot at him,” Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon is quoted.

The release notes that the man wasn’t hit by gunfire.

“They went their separate ways after the shooting,” Koon is quoted. “Deputies eventually located Stroman later in the day at a home on Edmund Highway and placed her under arrest.”

The release notes that Stroman is being held at the Lexington County Detention Center, charged with possession of a weapon during a violent crime in addition to the attempted murder charge.

This is a developing story and will continue to be updated.
