What’s the big Faceapp deal?

Senior Living

The latest flash in the pan time waster is called Faceapp. This smartphone application allows you to use artificial intelligence software to show what you could look like much older or younger. Technology has already come up with a way to create an authentic-looking video of someone saying something they did not actually say. Look out for 2020 political ads! This has sparked great attention mainly because what it produces really looks like an authentic photograph of you in the future, not just a makeup and hair color edit. My fellow senior citizens, this is certainly not a big-hit project for us. I have plenty of pictures of what I looked like as a young man. I don’t need to be shocked by what I may look like 40 years from now at age 102. It’s like we know a secret millennials have no clue about. It is this: If you live long enough, your face is going to age. I have seen many old faces. Now one of those stares at me in the mirror. Be proud of your age. Be thankful if you get to live past 75 or 80. Isn’t it a little disrespectful when we get a big laugh out of seeing ourselves looking like one of our elders? That doesn’t seem nice. There are about 46 million Americans over 65 now. If you try the app, be sure to take a picture of yourself smiling. An old face smiling is always a beautiful face to me.

Next week: Living alone? Be careful!
