Did you ever wonder what happened to Goldilocks after she left the 3 bears’ home?

Children enrolled in the Summer Reading Program always looked forward to Porkchop Productions live per formance at the Gilbert-Summit Branch Library. Due to the corona virus the summer reading program this year was virtual. Children can enjoy watching a virtual performance by Porkchop Productions on the library Facebook page.

Children will enjoy this production of Goldilocks by the theatre company. Children will meet Sandra Imogene Locke, Goldilocks for short, a curious little girl who keeps getting into trouble. Will Goldilocks keep getting into trouble? Children will learn about respecting others.

Miss Mindi from the Lexington Main Library will read “I, Astronaut” and in Spanish “Yo, Astronauta” by Maria Espluga. She will perform songs in English and Spanish.

There are also videos about novels for adults to read and enjoy this summer.

Adults will also enjoy the video on gardening by the Lexington County Master Gardener Volunteer Association.

Gilbert’s House of Terror has been busy this summer planning for their October month of terror. They have quite a few pictures on their Facebook page of how they are coping with the virus. They invite you to check them out and promise to “scare ya later”. This non-profit organization raises money during the Halloween season for many local businesses.

Congratulations to Gilbert High senior Katelyn Barefoot who won membership in the Teacher Cadet National Honor Society. She also was a Mid-Carolina Electric Coop delegate for the Washington Youth Tour.

Birthday wishes to Nancy Barnhill, Nick Ulmen, Billy Brown, Spencer Provost, Sam Drake, Harry Woodard, Brucie Bagwell, Donald Woolsey, Jr., Kay Brown, Randy Shaw, Dorothy Oswald, and Reba Frazier.
