Will former governor run in 2024?

Republicans expected to see Nikki Haley run for the GOP Presidential nomination in 2024.

That may not happen.

The former SC governor and UN Ambassador triggered 2024 rumors when she criticized former President Donald Trump over the Jan. 6 Capitol Hill violence.

After Republican criticism of what she said, the former Lexington resident is reportedly trying to make amends.

Speaking to reporters, Haley said she would not run if Trump were to run for the White House again.

Haley said that she would support Trump if he decides to run for president again.

“I would not run if President Trump ran, and I would talk to him about it,” Haley told reporters.

Trump has not yet revealed what he plans to do.

Haley said she had a “great working relationship” with the former president.

“I appreciated the way he let me do my job,” she said. “I thought we did some fantastically great foreign policy things together and I want to keep building on what we accomplished and not watch it torn down.”

In an earlier interview with Politico, Haley said she was “disgusted” by Trump’s actions Jan. 6.

Haley said when she saw the president “go off” on Vice President Mike Pence on TV, “I had to turn it off.”

She said, “Mike has been nothing but loyal to that man. He’s been nothing but a good friend of that man.

“I am so disappointed.”

After her comments, Haley was not invited to speak at the annual Conservative Political Action Conference where Trump was the keynote speaker.
