Thomas, “Wink,” and Bobbie Sox celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary at their home in Lexington on July 29. They met while he was in service, and she was working as a nurse in Pinehurst, N.C. Their courtship began through letters. They were eventually married at St. Stephens Church in 1950. They honeymooned in St. Augustine, Florida.

“Wink” worked at Savannah River Plant and then at Sears for many years. Bobbie worked as a nurse at Liverman Hospital and then at Rikard Nursing Home. Both at 93 still live at home and enjoy family and friends.
