ANNOUNCEMENTS

BURNING DEBRIS: Burn permit is required for burning debris in unincorporated areas of Lexington County. Call the SC Forestry Commission at 1-800- 705-8613.

LEXINGTON CO. collection/recycling STATION HOURS: Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday 7 am until 7 pm; Sundays 3 pm until 7 pm; Tuesday and Thursday closed. Closed New Year’s Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. Inclement weather or other emergency situations may result in temporary closings of some or all collection and recycling centers on a per incident basis. Every effort will be made to notify the public if such closings are required.

POLL WORKERS: The Lexington County Voter Registration and Election Commission is accepting poll worker applications. Visit http://www.lex-co.sc.gov/departments/DeptRZ/registrationandelections, select Poll Manager application on the left side, and complete an online application; or visit the local office at 605 West Main st Suite C, to complete an application in person. If you are 18 years or older, you must be a registered voter to be eligible; 16 and 17 year old (students) are also eligible.

AMERICAN LEGION RIDERS bbq & BIKE SHOW: Nov. 14, 10 am-3 pm, 1485 Pine Plain Rd., Gaston. Sandy Run Post 156 sponsors event with door prizes, bike judges , raffles, music, karaoke, BBQ lunch begins at 11:30 for $8 a plate. Registration fee: $20 per bike.
