It was a baseball reunion at Lexington Sports Complex on June 15. Past and present members of the American Legion Post 7 baseball team faced each other in a contest to replace a cancelled contest. The game ended in a 6-6 tie as the present team scored 6 unanswered runs in the bottom of the 7th. Noah Huffmaker of Lexington High School tied the game with a 3-run homer. Lexington returned to League 3 action on Monday and lost to 1st place Camden Post 17 by a 7-5 score. The loss dropped Lexington to 6-5 overall, 3-3 in League III. The two teams faced each other game again this past Tuesday at Lexington Sports Complex. Starting Friday, Post 7 will play 3 games at South Florence High School (Hope Mills at 5 pm Friday, Garner at 11 am and Rock Hill at 1:30 pm on Saturday and an opponent TBD at 11 am). West Columbia Post 79 was in 3rd place in League 3 on June 17. It travels to Aiken Friday, play host to Dalzell Monday at Brookland-Cayce High School and travel to Lexington Wednesday. Chapin-Newberry Post 193/24 was also in 3rd place in League V and has back-to-back games with Lancaster Thursday (home) and Friday (away) and visit Rock Hill Monday and Fort Mill Tuesday. Only the top 2 teams in each league are eligible for the American Legion playoffs.
