An outstanding Clemson graduate

Congratulations to Blaine Olawsky. She is graduating with honors from Clemson University with a Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice with minors in biology and political science. Her mom gave her a small get together to celebrate her achievement. The varsity volleyball pre-season tourna

The varsity volleyball pre-season tournament will be held at Pelion August 15 at 8 am. Varsity football plays at Wagener-Salley at 7:30 pm August 21. On August 25, the Pelion girls tennis team plays Gilbert at home at 4:30 pm and the JV volleyball plays at Batesburg-Leesville at 5 pm.

JUST A TIDBIT on storing stuff. Never put onions or garlic in the fridge. Store in a dry, cool, ventilated place. Also never refrigerate potatoes because it turns their starch to sugar. Don’t store onions near potatoes because they aren’t friends!

THE RURITANS were given a brochure at the last meeting that details 10 things to do to avoid fraud. To spot imposters, do online searches, don’t believe your caller ID, don’t pay upfront for a promise, consider how you pay, talk to someone, hang up on robocalls, be skeptical about free trial offers, don’t deposit a check and wire money back.
