Building businesses on the river

The River District Association has opened a new location at 803 Meeting St. in West Columbia.

The association is a nonprofit organization that will promote the growth and viability of small and independently owned businesses in the district from the Riverwalk on the Congaree River to Triangle City.

Bill Mooneyhan, who is working to recharge the River District, said the purpose of the association is to revitalize and grow business.

The new office will be home of the non-profit Carolina Together, that will host the Gervais Street Bridge Dinner twice in 2021.

Steve Cohen, who moved Carolina Together to Meeting Street, said The River District will work together to promote each other via various projects.
