Dunkin’ drops its donuts

Lexington County Krispy Kreme fans won’t care but Dunkin’ Donuts fans do. Dunkin’ Donuts is dropping its last name – for a simpler name, CEO David Hoffmann told Business Insider newsletter. Hoffman said drinks make up 60% of Dunkin’ Donuts business while doughnuts have lower profit margins. New stores feature a tap system for cold beverages that include nitro cold brew, cold brew, original-blend coffee, dark-roast coffee, decaf, green tea and iced tea. He said doughnut fans can still order them but he hopes to appeal to younger customers with its new name, which will still use orange and pink colors.
