New videos from the Gilbert-Summit Branch Library are available. Children will enjoy Miss Amanda from the Cayce-West Columbia Branch as she discusses books about the secret history of unicorns, crayons and Curious George.

Miss Megan from the Batesburg-Leesville Branch shares a story from the book “Escargot” by Dashka Siater.

Miss Juliet from the Lexington Main Library shares favorite stories, songs and nursery rhymes and the books “The Lucky Leaf” by Ross Burach and “The Red Hen” by Rebecca and Ed Emberly.

Miss Angee from the Lexington Main Library will read and sing songs that show how to have fun creating with sidewalk chalk and chalk paint. She will read “I Ain’t Gonna Paint No More” by Karen Beaumont.

Adults and children will enjoy Lt. Col. John Miles’ video about unicorns, selkies and mermaids from Celtic culture.

Books, DVDs, and magazines can be checked out at the Gilbert-Summit Library online. For information call 803-785-5387.

CHEROKEE Presbyterian Church in Gilbert is providing for families from Centerville Elementary School who have no internet to use their wifi on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:45 to 6:15 pm.and Wednesdays from 12:45 to 3:45 pm.

The church offers reading help Wed-nesdays through October 16. Parents must sign up. Call Liz Cely at 803-466-3253.

The church has collected school supplies for the children at the Thornwell Home.

PRICE’S COUNTRY Store in Gilbert held a contest to guess the weight of a large pumpkin. Congratulations to Leighanne Black who guessed the weight 1-10th of a point from 97.9 pounds and won $20.
