The Lexington Police Department Foundation held its 15th annual Fall Festival Oct. 22.
The crowd of more than 2,000 enjoyed bouncy houses, a swing carousel, a slide, and lots of freebies from more than 100 vendors. Many of the attendees were in costume.
LPD’s Cpl. Cameron Mortenson said it was the largest ever and highlights the importance of Lexington businesses and organizations that help make the department successful.
Town Councilman Todd Carnes echoed Morten-son’s comments and added that the “secret sauce” that makes Lexington such a great place to live is a strong sense of community.
He added that it is a great venue for businesses and families to interact.
Lexington Police Chief Terrence Green said anytime kids and law enforcement officers interact positively can be a great benefit to the whole community.
He also said it helps to build relationships between LPD officers and the public.
