Happy birthday, America

We celebrate our nation’s birthday next month. The Declaration of Independence proclaimed our freedom from the British. Who signed that document from South Carolina? 4 South Carolinians, Thomas Heyward, Thomas Lynch, Arthur Middleton, and Edward Rutledge, who was only 26 years old when he signed the document.

As you prepare for celebrations, take time and pray for our great nation.

THE RED CROSS is severely in need because of the low blood supply.

I gave blood recently and talked with a father and son who were also giving. Jeb Bartholomew of Chapin was donating for the 1st time and had a good experience. Go to RedCrossblood.org to find where to give.

CONGRATULATIONS to The Screaming Eagles, Special Needs Athletics, they have found land for a place for those with all abilities to enjoy sports. To find out more about this special 501c3, or to give, go to screamingeagleathletics@gmail.com

WILD ANIMALS are fun! My daughter just found a coyote tooth in the woods. 2 hawks sit in the trees waiting for a “chicken snack” from our hen coop. A skunk visits our house sometimes leaving us enjoying its “pungent odoriferous perfume. “Sir Skunk” reminds us that our yard belongs to him at night.

SALUDA SHOALS is an oasis. The July 4th Symphonic Salute will start July 3 at 8 pm. Bring your kids back July 4 for Backyard Saturday-Thank a Bee Day.
