The Lexington County Museum recently celebrated a milestone – its 50th birthday on August 1.
! The dedication ceremony August 1, 1970, featured a demonstration by the SC Light Dragoon’s reenactors. Several prominent individuals gave speeches at the event including the then president of the Lutheran Southern Theological Seminary, Dr. George Anderson, and the chairman of the Lexington County Museum Commission, Clayton Kleckley. The dedication ceremony also featured the unveiling of a historic marker that commemorated the Lutheran Seminary while it was in Lexington.
