On Tuesday, Oct. 12, a historic thing happened in the small town of Swansea. A debate was held, sponsored by q the Chronicle and Fish Wrapper, between the four candidates running for mayor of Swansea. An article recapping that the debate is printed in this week’s issue.

A reminder that the Swansea Friends of the Library are having their Book Sale this Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. The library is located at 297 North Lawrence St. in Swansea.

Finally, The Quail would remind everyone of the American Legion, Sandu Run Post 156, Oyster Roast will be this Saturday, Oct. 23, from noon until 4 p.m. Select oysters, finger foods, a drink and dessert will be served and they will even have chicken tenders for those who don’t eat oysters.
