The Pelion Town Council passed an ordinance to reduce the tax e rate to 17 mils. The previous mils were 18.3. Kudos to the council for the reduction.

Summer Reading Program kids who finished can stop by the library for a bag of goodies and a free book of their choice through August 31.

After forming a secret society that takes revenge on school bullies, mean girls and tyrannical teachers, 4 very different teenage girls must discover the killer who is coming after them and the ones they love.

PELION GIRLS tennis plays Barnwell on Sept. 1 at 5 pm. Pelion varsity volleyball plays Batesburg-Leesville on September 1 at 6:30 p.m. and Swansea Sept, 3 at 6:30 pm. Both are home games. Girls tennis plays Wade Hampton Sept. 3 at 5 pm. Pelion High Panthers varsity football will play at Midland Valley Sept. 4 at 7:30 pm.
