Lexington District 1 has raised its superintendent’s pay to $209,482.
“As a result of his exemplary performance,” the board will give Dr. Greg Little:
• An extended contract for 3 more years to 2024.
• A 2.5% raise the same as other district administrators.
• 2% more in annual annuity contributions.
• An annual $12,000 retention bonus from fiscal year 2020 to 2024.
All of this is conditioned on satisfactory performance.
• 6 months’ pay if the board fires him.
Dr. Little’s compensation compares with that paid in:
• Lexington-Richland District 5 in Chapin and Irmo to Superintendent Christina Melton of $175,000 a year plus $8,750 annuity and other benefits.
• Lexington 2 in Cayce-West Columbia to Superintendent Bill James of $168,300 plus $18,000 for travel and other benefits.
• Lexington 3 in Batesburg-Leesville to Superintendent Randall Gary of $151,694 plus a $12,135 annuity and other benefits.
• Lexington 4 in Gaston-Swansea paid outgoing Superintendent Linda Lavender $146,168 plus a $10,000 annuity and other benefits.
Dr. Robert Maddox, who is in Edgefield, will be taking over from Dr. Lavender as superintendent, but his compensation and start date are not yet available.
