Lexington community to get face lift

Habitat for Humanity plans to revitalize a Lexington neighborhood.

They announced plans to build new homes in the Hill Community which sits behind the LMC Urgent Care and medical offices in downtown Lexington.

Habitat will also repair and remodel existing homes.

The project is similar to one already underway in Cayce.

That effort is already making a difference and building a stronger bond and sense of community.

At the announcement, attendees met with representatives from Security Federal Savings Bank, Lexington District 1 Nutritional Services, Dickerson Children’s Advocacy Center, Midlands Fatherhood foundation, and South Carolina Legal Services.

County Council member Constance Flemming and Town Councilman Ron Williams were in attendance.

Flemming said she is excited at the prospect of improving our neighborhoods and is praying and looking forward to the project.

Williams said he is proud that seniors will now be able to get affordable home repairs.

Security Federal Savings bank presented a check to Habitat for Humanity to help get things started.
