Lexington man charged in drug case

Posted

A Lexington man accused of drug trafficking charges was arrested earlier this month.

Ratravious Untwai Quattlebaum, 35, is charged with 4 counts of trafficking meth, according to arrest warrants.

“Narcotics agents got a tip about Quattlebaum selling meth,” Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon said this week. “Agents set up multiple controlled drug purchases of trafficking amounts of meth from Quattlebaum.”

Agents later found meth in Quattlebaum’s home while executing a search warrant, according to Koon.

2 teens in custody for hoax bomb threat

Units from the West Columbia Police Department, the West Columbia Fire Department and EMS were on the scene of a business around 5:30 pm Monday on 9th Street in West Columbia at Raleigh Street.

The road was blocked and officers were redirecting traffic in the area.

An investigation involving a possible bomb threat was being conducted. Raleigh Street was blocked and so was a portion of 9th Street from Sunset Boulevard to Jackson Street.

After 6:30 pm, West Columbia police announced that officers responded to a call for service at 725 Raleigh Street (5 Star Academy Learning Center) for a bomb threat. The State Law Enforcement Division assisted officers in clearing the building and no devices were found. The West Columbia Police Department has two juvenile suspects in custody.
