Mary Nelson

Born on April 9, 1956, in Prince Frederick, Md., to parents Gilbert and Virginia Jones of Solomons, Md. She worked in Lexington, S.C., for many years in Lexington County School District 1, where she enjoyed working and making a lot of friends. Also, she loved singing, and most of all, loved her daughters and grandchildren. Mary is survived by her daughter, Carla Nelson; grandchildren, Lisa Steels, Lillian Patrick and Curtis Reed; niece, Kennifer Morris; and her best friend and love of her life, Phil Sherman. She also leaves behind two sisters, four brothers and many nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by her daughter, Jessica Nelson, and her parents, Gilbert and Virginia Jones. A memorial service will be planned to honorMary's life and legacy. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to any breast cancer charity and to help those in need.
