One of the pandemic’s biggest losses has been the lack of larger social gatherings. Yet some are finding ways for events. Lexington Church of God plans a “Picnic In The Parking Lot” 11:30 am - 12:30 pm Wednesday, August 19, at at 1331 Nazareth Road.
They’ll provide food and drinks. Just bring lawn chairs and blankets to while picnicking with your neighbors. Social distancing will be observed. The community is invited. See www.lexcog.com for details.
A BELATED WELCOME to Red Bank to Mr. Shorty’s Tattoo Emporium, which opened i the new shops on South Lake Drive near I-20. Their move from West Columbia where they had been since 2006 coincided with the pandemic start in March, so they’ve only been open here a short time.
CONCERNED about your student going virtual this school year? For an opportunity to talk with other parents in the same situation, check out a new local Facebook group started by White Knoll High School parents. “Lexington 1 Virtual Learning Parent Support Group” shares information, tips, and support for parents. The group is not officially affiliated with the Lexington 1 school district.
