Raymond Boozer Inducted into Hall of Fame

Raymond Boozer has dedicated many years of work and volunteer service to the Gilbert community and the County of Lexington. Recently, Boozer was inducted into the Lever County Extension Agent Hall of Fame at Clemson University. The Lever Hall of Fame recognizes former Clemson Extension Agents for their superior contributions and outstanding leadership in their communities and throughout South Carolina. Raymond Boozer along with his wife Alice, their daughters Linda Ashely, Brenda Burkett, their children and grandchildren attended his induction into the Lever County Hall of Fame at Clemson.

Raymond Boozer of Gilbert worked from 1956 to 1985 as a Clemson University Extension Services Assistant, Associate, and leader in Lexington County. During his 29 years of service Boozer organized 14 Community Development Clubs throughout Lexington County.

Boozer also worked for 25 years with 4-H Clubs providing leadership to establish several 4-H Clubs and programs in Lexington County schools. Boozer’s accomplishments include leading an initiative to bring a hospital to Lexington County. This hospital became Lexington County Medical Center. He also organized community development groups to begin a countywide fire service. In 1959 Raymond and his wife Alice Boozer founded the annual Lexington County Peach Festival. Congratulations Raymond Boozer on your induction, we are thankful for all you have done for our Gilbert community.
