Scouting for Food Saturday

Scouting for Food is Gilbert Pack 60’s annual food drive.

The Scouts will accept non-perishables Saturday 11 am-1 pm and another drive Saturday, Feb. 13, 10:30 am-noon. Donations will be welcomed at Pack 60’s Scout Hut at 713 Juniper Springs Road in Gilbert.

Please let your family and friends know about Scouting for Food. All donations will go to local food panties for families in need.

YOU CAN GET your daily dose of laughs with 2 silly story times about underwear.

Our Gilbert-Summit Branch Library has a Facebook page video. Miss Melanie will read Polar Bear’s Underwear by Tupera Tupera, and Veggies with Wedgies by Todd Doodler. Children will enjoy these books and also a few jokes and rhymes.

GILBERT HIGH teachers Jennifer Simmons and Dani Stroud are featured in the Art of Teaching magazine. Both were Teachers of the Year 2019-2020. Congratulations to Mickey Stalvey who is GHS Support Staff of the Year. GHS finalists were Hazel Webb and Greg Blackmon.

TEDDY’S SNOUT Art Raffle is underway at Cotton Branch Farm Sanctuary. Teddy is a pig who paints with his snout. Teddy’s painting “The 4 Elements” will be raffled. To buy tickets call 803-381-0051.

FIRST BAPTIST Church of Gilbert youth group plans a summer camp fundraiser, a spaghetti dinner take out. Dinner includes spaghetti, salad, bread and dessert. Tickets are $7 and will be sold until Feb. 7. Call 803-892-3699 for more information.
