History is on the Republicans’ side. Appointing a Supreme Court justice is not unprecedented. 22 presidents have had 29 vacancies to fill in their last year in office.

All 22 presidents nominated a candidate in their last year to fill those vacancies. If he did not, President Trump would be the 1st president in history to fail to nominate someone to fill a Supreme Court vacancy in the last year of his term.

Democrats are continuing their efforts to rewrite history in their favor. Regardless of how you feel politically, the Constitution supports Trump and the Republican Senate.

Small business needs help

The US Chamber of Commerce has lost its influence. Top Republicans blame chief policy officer Neil Bradley with endorsing 23 House Democrats in swing districts.

The chamber’s influence is dwindling with small businesses, too. At its peak, the chamber had about 130,000 small business members. Now there are less than 7,000.

The chamber does not espouse solid business and balanced-budget ideals. It has gone left and its membership has collapsed.

Business people need a level-playing-field, not more regulation and higher taxes.
