Virginia Partrich (16) of Chapin and her teammate look to free the ball from the Wando player during the SC High School League Class 5A Lower State final played at Cecil Woolbright Field this past Monday. The Lady Eagles rallied from a 7-4 deficit in the 2nd half to tie the match, but fell 9-8. Chapin sought to regain the 2019 Class 5A title in won, but never had a chance to defend due to the covid-19 shutdown last year. The Lady Eagles finished the season 14-2 overall, while the Lady Warriors (10-1) advanced to the state final at WC Hawkins Stadium on the campus of Irmo High School where they will face Riverside at 4 pm Friday.
