FRIDAY, SEPT. 6

Cody Webb (concert)
The Harbison Theatre at Midlands Technical College (7300 College Blvd.) hosts a performance by singer/songwriter Cody Webb. The South Carolina-born country artist co-wrote the hit single “Memories Are Made Of” for Luke Combs, and he’s toured with Morgan Wallen, Dylan Scott, Sam Hunt, Riley Green, Easton Corbin, Charlie Daniels, LoCash, Cole Swindell and more. Showtime is 7:30 p.m., and general admission tickets are $20. Students, seniors and military members get in for $15. Visit harbisontheatre.org for more information.

Meeting St. Music Fest (concert)
The Meeting St. Music Festival brings a ton of musical talent and to Meeting St. today and tomorrow. Enjoy bands on a half-dozen different stages, including Nu-Blu, The Gaspumpers, Jamie Wright, Brittany Turnipseed, the legendary soul-funk band War, and many more. This family-friendly event also includes square dancing lessons from Bill’s Music Shop & Pickin’ Parlor, 15 different food trucks, a gaming area, a spot for watching college football and much more. Jamie Wright w/ Rod Foster & Company (concert)
Chayz Lounge, vocalist Jamie Wright and Rod Foster & Company invite you to enjoy “A Night of Soulful Grooves.” Backed by Foster and band, Upstate vocalist Wright will work her soul-jazz magic on tunes by Chaka Khan, Anita Baker, Teddy Pendergrass, The Gap Band, The Whispers, Michael Jackson and more. Rent A Chick
Rent-A-Chick, one of the most popular activities at The FARM 1780 (1127 Corley Mill Rd.) returns this weekend. The program provides you with a few-day-old chicks and all of the supplies that you need to care for them for two weeks.  It’s a great opportunity for anyone who is thinking about getting chickens or simply want to lovingly care for a young animal.  When you return your chicks & supplies, you’ll get a certificate for a dozen eggs to use when your chicks start laying. Watson & Autrey Unplugged (concert)

SUNDAY, SEPT. 8

Sip & Sculpt
Savage Craft Ale Works (430 Center St.) invites you to explore your artistic side with their Sip & Sculpt night. In this ceramics class, students will build their own ceramic mug or beer stein from scratch with NOMAD Mobile Art Studio, and a beverage from Savage Craft Ale Works is included in the ticket cost of $54. Car Cruise-In & Cookout
Steel Hands Brewing (2350 Foreman St.) throws a Sunday party with their Car Cruise-In & Cookout event. Music Bingo
Hazelwood Brewing Company (711 E. Main St.) hosts its weekly Music Bingo night. The game is simple: Your card has 25 squares filled with song titles & artists. The host announces the music round & then starts to play the music. Your job is to listen carefully and cross the songs & artists off your card. Fill out five in a row and that’s bingo. THURSDAY, SEPT. 12

The Root Doctors (concert)
The Lexington Live concert series, presented by Lexington Medical Center, rolls on at the Icehouse Amphitheater (107 W. Main St.) with a performance by one of S.C.’s most popular party bands, The Root Doctors. Modern Shag Night
In the mood to do a little shagging to classic beach music or R&B? Head over to Bill’s Music Shop & Pickin’ Parlor (710 Meeting St.) for their modern shag night. Get all you need for Autumn at the SC State Fairgrounds (1200 Rosewood Dr.) at the “A Carolina Fall” market on Friday, Sept. 6. Comedian and actor Martin Lawrence makes a triumphant return to standup at Colonial Life Arena (801 Lincoln St.) for his first comedy tour in six years. The “Y’all Know What It Is Tour” comes hot on the heels of Lawrence’s box-office smash Bad Boys: Ride Or Die, and he’s sure to have plenty of new targets for his hilarious takedowns. Ever wonder what it would be like to catch an episode of “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” up close and in person? Well, Trustus Theatre (520 Lady St.) is giving you that chance when The Mothers hit the stage on Saturday, Sept. 7. The Mothers, who can handle hilarious and lightning-fast improv with ease, return for their ninth season with a full hour-long show of comedy never done before and never to be seen again, complete with audience suggestions. The Washington mathcore/post-hardcore thrashers The Fall Of Troy perform at New Brookland Tavern (632 Harden St.) on Wednesday, Sept. 11.
