I had the recent adventure of riding with the American Legion Legacy Riders for their annual ride. I rode from Denmark to Batesburg, where the group had lunch. There were 50 motorcycles in the event with 100 plus riders and followers. There were riders from all over South Carolina participating in this event. You can still donate to this worthy cause, and all donations are tax deductible. Mail donations to American Legion Post 101, P. O. Box 373, Pelion, SC when darkness is upon us. Bring your own chair to participate. Both events will be held at 861 Pine St. in Pelion.

The Pelion Peanut Party Saturday events include a car show from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. The annual parade is at 11 am. If you are interested in participating in the parade, contact Amy at scpelionpeanutparty@gmail.com for more information. Amusement rides will begin at noon until 10 p.m. The Pelion Schools will have an art exhibit from noon until 5 p.m. at the Community Center located next to all the activities. Fireworks will begin at 7:30 p.m.

Happy birthday to Steve Neese.
