Another special event at the stadium takes place July
3.
For the second year, the Blowfish will honor military veterans at the High Point-Thomasville game.
“We are expanding the event this year to include all veterans of active duty participation in ANY foreign conflict defending our freedom from World War II to the present day,” said coordinator Bob Caughman.
Veterans who attend will receive:
- 2 complimentary admission passes and reserved seating for the ball game.
- Reserved use of the ball park’s private air-conditioned banquet area for veterans and their guests beginning at 6 p.m. with hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, beverages and dessert.
- An opportunity for veterans to participate in a pre-game ceremony on the field during the pledge of allegiance, a fallen comrade (POW/MIA) presentation, Taps, the national anthem and ceremonial first pitch.
- A complimentary electronic subscripition to the Lexington County Chronicle and the Lake Murray Fish Wrapper, the official newspaper of the Lexington County Blowfish.
