Volunteers needed for clean-up day

Pelion Mayor Frank Shumpert has requested a clean-up day Nov. 7 at the walking trail. Volunteers are needed. Please meet at the playground at 8 am.

A drive-through Trunk or Treat will be at the Pelion ball field at 300 Fort St. 6-8 pm Oct. 31. Hayrides, candy and food will be provided. Prizes will be given for the 3 best decorated trucks.

The playground has received some much needed paint on the wooden features. The color was selected by Beth Shumpert.

THE PELION Branch Library offers fax, copy and notary services. Please call the library 803-785-3272 for details.

CONVENT BAPTIST Church plans a Thanksgiving food drive to benefit Connie Maxwell Children’s home through Nov. 15. Please donate to this cause.

Convent Baptist will host the annual Fall Festival 4-6 pm Oct. 25. All are invited for food and fellowship.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Amanda Caughman and Blaine Olawsky. Best wishes to Blaine who graduated from Clemson in August and is now at her new job in Norcross, Ga.

PELION JV volleyball plays at Wade Hampton Oct. 22 at 5 pm. Varsity plays at 6:30 pm. Varsity competitive cheer vs Lexington High Wildcats be Oct. 24 at noon. Varsity cross country meets at Sandhills Research Park Oct. 24 at 8:30 am.
