Wellmore offers scholarship opportunity

Special to the Chronicle Wellmore of Lexington is accepting applications for its annual Silver Pen Writing Competition, which awards 3 local high school seniors with scholarships ranging from $500 to $2,500. The deadline to apply is Feb. 12.

The competition is open to high school seniors who live or attend school within 25 miles of Wellmore of Lexington, employees of Wellmore and their families, and residents’ immediate family.

The topic is: “Traditions are passed down from one generation to another. Many times, traditions shape the family structure, and in some cases, life choices. What traditions that have been passed down have helped prepare you for the future that you may someday pass down?”

Participants must submit at least 1,000 words, the application form, and a transcript to be considered.

“The Silver Pen Scholarship is an extraordinary opportunity for our Members to connect with our local community in a meaningful way,” says Crystal Butcher, Wellmore of Lexington’s executive director.

Members at Wellmore will judge the competition. To learn more or enter the Silver Pen Competition, visit www.silverpen-slc.com .
