Why must kids still be masked?

Posted

I’m ticked about the way kids are being treated for not wearing masks at some of our schools. Go to Facebook Lexington Masks by Choice and take a look at the ire that has been stirred up with parents.

Only 468 new cases and 4 deaths in SC in the past 2 days. But, good gosh, we must keep those kids masked up in class.

To hear some of the caterwauling going on you would think the new order from Gov. McMaster is a death sentence for students and teachers. Whatever happened to critical thinking and sound reasoning?

Stop nuclear bailout

I am furious with SC lawmakers for getting us in this mess. I don’t want to pay another penny toward this nuclear fiasco.

My electric bill with Dominion Energy doubled and they keep raising our rates.

I got no rebate check like my kids did from Mid-Carolina even though i asked about it. I’ve lived here 20 years.

It does no good to complain because i have written to the commissioners who approve rate increases and all they’ve done is put it on their board. I even talked to them about the last complaint we all had.

Even if i travelled to Columbia to do it in person, it wouldn’t make a difference. They don’t listen and don’t care. You can’t win.

I wrote an article for the Twin-City News about Dominion constantly cutting off our electricity. In the 20 years i’ve lived here, it has been over 300 times.

The Director of Operations called me along with House Rep. Cal Forrest who understood but couldn’t do anything.

The Director said they cut off electricity to do what he called a “Reset.” Why?

Mid-Carolina doesn’t do that. You can count on it every month being cut off. You just can’t win with big corporations.

On the $2784 road signs, if any roads should be named for anyone they should be deceased, have an outstanding background and a reason for the naming of a road.

Best yet would not have anyone’s name on a road other than a deceased front line responder or veteran.

Please support 988

May is Mental Health Month. By urging public officials to prioritize suicide prevention, mental health and crisis care, we can influence collective change to support #MentalHealth4All.

Those in crisis are now able to call 1-800-273-8255 to reach the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. The Lifeline provides 24/7, free and confidential support for people in distress and those that care for them.

Soon, it will be to remember how to reach the Lifeline as the number will be changing to “988” nationwide by July 2022.

It is important that states reliably fund 988 and their state’s crisis response system, just as we fund 911 and emergency services - through small fees on our phone bills.
