The City of West Columbia and the Town of Springdale have been awarded a $20,000 grant to establish a financial wellness program for their mor than 250 employees.

The money will provide financial education in workshops, 1-on-1 sessions, online resources, financial wellness videos and support materials.

DID YOU see a commotion in West Columbia Tuesday, Sept. 22? The West Columbia Fire Department and EMS were on the site of the Family Dollar store on Sunset Boulevard at Hummingbird Drive.

Smoke could be seen so West Columbia police rerouted traffic. The store reopened Tuesday afternoon.

High school football made its comeback Friday, Sept. 26. All 3 schools in Lexington 2 won their games.

Brookland-Cayce beat Fox Creek 41-6 in North Augusta. Airport beat Midland Valley 20-0 at home and Gray Collegiate Batesburg-Leesville 27-20 at the Pine Ridge Sports Complex.

The Springdale Public Works Department extends congratulations to the residents at 1123 Pinecroft Drive. That home was selected for Springdale’s Yard of the Month. Thanks for making Springdale beautiful.
