The Lexington County Blowfish announced the addition to 2 more former Chronicle Country high school players to the 2021 roster.

Pitcher Dalton Mims of Winthrop University has signed with Lexington County for the upcoming season.

The right-hander out of Airport high School finished the shortened 2020 season with a 1.69 ERA over 7 appearances, striking out 8 and only allowing 1 earned run.

Mims will be joined by fellow Winthrop and Airport graduate Parker Whittle. Both played on the 2018 Airport team which finished Class 4A runner-up to Chapin.

“We’re excited to bring in two more Lexington County natives in Dalton Mims and Parker Whittle,” former Blowfish general manager Justin Hall said on Jan. 3. “Having watched them pitch quite a bit over at Airport High School, both will be a great asset to Coach (Fico) Kondla and our pitching staff this summer.”

The Blowfish will hold a team luncheon Feb. 10 at the VIP room and announce its theme for 2021 season.
