The preseason S.C. Baseball Coaches Association rankings find Brookland-Cayce tied for No. 1.
The Bearcats are behind Chapman for the top spot in Class 3A. It's the highest preseason ranking for Brookland-Cayce since winning the title in 2008.
2021 champion Gilbert is ranked seventh.
Meanwhile, Class 2A runner-up Gray Collegiate is ranked third behind sister school Oceanside Collegiate and defending champion Andrew Jackson. Batesburg-Leesville is ranked seventh.
No. 3 River Bluff and No. 5 Lexington are the lone Chronicle Country teams ranked in Class 5A.
