Rankings were determined using the most recent data from the US Department of Justice, FBI, and US Department of Education from colleges with at least 10,000 students in nearly 150 US cities through 2017.

Coastal Carolina University was found to be the least safe college in South Carolina with 1.78 violent crimes per 1,000 students.
