Memorial weekend was quite memorable. Chapin had bears roaming down Amicks Ferry and around town limits, and the heat hit record highs.

Freedom is never free, and Memorial Day 2019 will be forever carved in the memories of the members of the Chapin Band. They had the honor and privilege of marching in the National Memorial Day Parade in Washington, DC. Several members placed a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. What a weekend to remember for all those band members.

It’s Ladies Day on the Lake at Lighthouse Marina June 18. 8:30 am-4:30, pm, The Lake Murray Association has partnered with the SC Department of Natural Resources to instruct ladies on boat safety. The cost is $35. Go to the events page at lakemurraycountry.com for more information.

The 2019 PAC Panthers football training camp is calling all rising 5th-12th-grade homeschoolers. THE PAC Athletic Club provides homeschool young men and women opportunities to participate in baseball, basketball, cheerleading, cross-country, golf, clay shooting and volleyball. The football program offers two levels for football - Juthersfootball.wixsite.com Junior Varsity and Varsity and competes statewide against public, private and other homeschool teams. Charter and online students are also eligible to play on the teams. Home games for both teams are played at the Bray Park Sports Complex in West Columbia.
