Aquarius Spa and Salon in Chapin offers an oasis for those seeking serenity. The owner, Marie Keeton, was inspired to open her business in 2005 due to the lack of spas in the area at that time.

“I was getting regular massages, but really wanted the whole spa experience for myself and others," she said. "I had been in the beauty industry for many years as a professional model and skin care consultant, but this was a new venture for me. I spent about eight months researching and planning the business and treatments we would offer.”

Aquarius Spa and Salon promotes wellness and relaxation in ways that benefit their clients.

“Our treatments are specially designed by me and well-thought-out," Keeton said. "I always approach treatment design from the guest’s perspective. Our salon has really grown recently as we have attracted a top-notch team of stylists who do amazing hair.”

While massages and facials are among the more popular services booked, the menu at Aquarius Spa and Salon is extensive. They offer a wide variety of hair and nail services, diamond microdermabrasion, lifts, waxing, makeup application, spray tanning and eyelash extensions. An array of packages are also available for anyone seeking a tranquil environment where they can reconnect with themselves and de-stress.

The team at Aquarius Spa and Salon believes in prioritizing clients’ needs and providing a calm ambiance so people leave feeling revitalized. Keeton said that her staff is what she appreciates most about working in the beauty industry.

“I enjoy the people I work with every day," she said. "They are amazing, creative people who love what they do and really care about our guests, and that gives me great joy.”

Keeton also shared that the building next door, which has been under construction, will become the new Aquarius Spa and Salon home and is estimated to open in late September.

“We have added several rooms to accommodate more massage and facial treatments," she said. "We will be adding a lot of space to our salon and incorporating a head spa into the new floor plan. We have a few other surprise treatments coming in the new space as well.”

Throughout the years, Keeton has also been a supporter of the community.

“We rarely say no to a donation request, so we support many charities and local organizations," she said. "I am particularly fond of helping the local schools because we see such an immediate impact."

Keeton encourages people to stop by and visit Aquarius Spa and Salon. In addition to services, there is a wide variety of retail products to peruse.

“It has always been our mission to deliver results-oriented treatments in an environment where you do not feel intimidated," she said. "I would like to encourage the community to just come hang out and shop anytime at Aquarius, no appointment necessary."

Aquarius Spa and Salon is located at 113 Virginia St. in Chapin and their number is 803-345-1920. Details about services, packages and upcoming events can be found at theaquariusspa.com, or by joining their email list and following them on social media.
