Brookland-Cayce High School held the annual S.C. Basketball Coaches Association Media Day.

Lexington’s Cam Scott and Alexis Sexton, Irmo’s Dylan Williams and Dutch Fork’s Houston Jones were among the top senior and overall players selected from each classification.

Scott was named to the Elite boys list, Sexton and Jones were selected as top seniors in Class 5A and Williams was a top senior selection in Class 4A.

Gray Collegiate boys was the highest Chronicle Country ranked team as second in Class 2A. Dutch Fork and Irmo were ranked third in Classes 5A and 4A, respectively, and Brookland-Cayce was 10th in Class 3A.

Lexington and Gray Collegiate both ranked sixth in Classes 5A and 2A, respective, in the preseason girls rankings.

In other high school basketballrelated news, the S.C. High School League announced a return to the University of South Carolina-Aiken for the state finals March 3-5, 2022 and holding the semifinals at neutral sites.

Bob Jones University’s Davis Field House in Greenville will serve as host site for the Upper State finals, while the Florence Civic Center in Florence will once again hold the Lower State finals.

Last season’s Upper and Lower State finals were held at the higher seed’s respective homecourts. River Bluff defeated Dutch Fork at home in last year’s Class 5A Lower State final enroute to winning the state title.
