The City of Cayce offers guided walks along the Congaree on Saturdays.

In 1 square mile you’ll see cultural and natural evidence of 12,000 years of life on the river’s banks.

National Park-trained volunteers point out areas of significance at the 12,000 Year History Park.

You’ll hear stories about the Battle of Congaree Creek, Fort Congaree, 18th Century traders and Native American life.

Special events include lantern tours and nature walks.

All tours are free.

Please wear comfortable shoes and a hat. You may bring sunscreen, insect repellant and water.

Plan to arrive 15 minutes early for the 60 to 90-minute tours.
