Lexington County has 91 new cases, Richland County 184

After a week without a reported covid death, Lexington County had 3 in 2 days.

2 elderly deaths reported Thursday occurred Nov. 29 and Dec. 1.

The county also had 91 new cases reported Thursday.

Columbia and Richland County had no deaths but 184 new cases.

That was the 2nd highest in SC behind Greenville with 189 cases.

Horry had 152, York 126 and Charleston 120 cases.

Spartanburg had 87 cases but 8 more covid deaths, the state's highest.

The Department of Health and Environmental Control announced Thursday's cases and deaths (scdhec.gov/COVID19

  • Confirmed and probable cases: 208,435/14,628
  • Confirmed and probable deaths: 4,145/321
  • Tests performed for South Carolinians: 2,773,206

Testing opportunities (scdhec.gov/findatest)

  • Testing opportunities available statewide: 299

Percent positive (scdhec.gov/COVID19dashboard)

  • 7,360 new individual test results reported statewide (not including antibody tests)
  • 23.8% tested positive as infected with the virus.
  • That means 76.2% tested negative as uninfected.
