District 2 schools return to remote learning

Posted

Covid has forced 3 Lexington District 2 schools to go to remote learning.

The schools and their periods of remote learning are:

• Cayce Elementary until Sept. 9.

• Northside Middle until Sept. 10.

• Pine Ridge Middle until Sept. 10.

The decision resulted from the impact of covid on students, staff and safe school operations plus the challenge of securing substitutes.

There will be no athletics, clubs, activities and/or events during these remote learning periods. These activities will resume when students return to classes.

Free student meals will be available for drive-thru pickup in the traffic loop in front of Riverbank Elementary from 11am-noon Thursday, Sept. 2 and Tuesday, Sept. 7. Several days of weekday meals will be distributed over each of these three days.

Pre-ordering is recommended to ensure that there are enough meals for everyone.
