Our community can show support for Gilbert High graduates by participating in “Glow for Grads” on Wednesday, May 20, at 8:20 pm, Rresidents are asked to turn their lights on for 20 minutes and 20 seconds. Due to the corona virus seniors have missed their proms, school athletic activities and award ceremonies. Glow for Grads is a way to show support for our GHS and all graduates in Lexington County.

GHS delivered yard signs to each graduating senior. They plan a digital yearbook signing and a senior awards presentation.

GHS welcomes new teachers Trey Garzzillo, Science, Rachel Santer, Social Studies, Jessica Calhoun, School Counselor, Jennifer Simmons, Theater, James Satterfield, Match, Kelsey Covell, English and Rachel Gardner, English.

If you don’t have a veterinarian and your pets need their vaccinations, Price’s Country Store is having a Pet Care vaccination clinic Thursday, May 27 from 4:30 to 5 pm. Vaccinations are reasonably priced and will be given by Bell Farm Veterinary Clinic. No appointment is necessary.

Due to the corona virus guidelines, Dale Swygert said the Hollow Creek Community Club has postponed their meetings until September.

This month would be their annual Seniors Night Out Gala. For several years the HCCC has given seniors a catered dinner with entertainment. HCCC has several fund raisers throughout the year.

The Cotton Branch Animal Farm Sanctuary now has a live farm cam. You can view life on the farm on their Facebook page. CBAFS is a Wish List fundraiser. Donations will be matched by an anonymous donor. For information call 803-381-0051.

Birthday wishes to John David Sease, David Lake, Bryson Cook, Thomas Covington, Jr. Amy Sease, Frances Datzler, Scott Woodyard, Violet Myers, Callie Grace Polyak, Toni Huggins, Jan Lybrad, Melissa Taylor, Lisa Gantt, Jan Waters, Beverly Jerald, Jacob Rye, Josh Rowell, Joanna Shealy, Scotty Sinclair, Jason Magee and Vickie Cossett.
