Posted

Gov. Henry McMaster announced his recommendations for the second round of CARES act funds.

It includes $450 million to the Unemployment Trust Fund, $45 million in grants for small businesses and non-profit organizations that did not receive federal PPP loans, and $93 million to reimburse DHEC and MUSC.

The governor also recommends $50 million to be reimbursed for public school districts and charter schools and $100 million to state agencies with covid-19 related expenses.

Last week unemployment filings in SC rose by 94 claims from the previous week. Richland County reported the highest amount of claims in the state for the week ending Sept. 5 with 530 claims and Lexington County had 294.
