Harrison Collier Achieves Eagle Scout

Posted

After many years of participating in the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts of America, Harrison Collier received his Eagle Scout. Only about 3% of scouts receive this award. This achievement took a lot of time and dedication.

Harrison earned over 30 merit badges, and also had to oversee a service project. The Eagle project he chose involved planning and supervising several volunteers in a leadership role in rebuilding a patio around an existing fireplace at his church, Christ Community Church.

On August 29, 2017, his scoutmaster and unit leader, Lee Ledford, led the ceremony at First Presbyterian Church in Simpsonville. Mr. Ledford said that Harrison is a young man of few words, he showed self-discipline, and that it had been a privilege and joy to have him in their troop. Other scouts in his troop also helped officiate. Harrison was administered and repeated the Eagle Scout oath. He received his Eagle Scout pin, flags that were flown over our State and National Capitols, and several letters of congratulations from our political leaders. A reception was held in his honor following the ceremony. Harrison is the son of Roxanne Collier, and Robert and Elizabeth Collier, and brother to Braden and Natalie Collier. He is the grandson of David and Debbie Whetsell of Lexington, and Bob and Ut Collier of Anderson.
