County has gone 5 days without a reported death

Posted

SC health officials warned this week that we face a fall covid-19 surge.

Yet Lexington County has not experienced a reported death in the last 5 days.

The Department of Health and Environmental Control Thursday announced 524 new confirmed cases.

2,922 individual test results were reported Thursday.

This was the 1st time the state has had fewer than 3,000 tests a day since Oct. 2.

Thursday’s percentage of positive tests at 17.9%, the highest since Oct. 2.

DHEC doesn't report this but 82.1% tested negative, more than 60% greater than those who are not infected,

The average rate of positive tests has dropped to below 15% but above the health experts' 5% goal.
