Hollow Creek Community Club elected 2019 Community Club officers and new board members. Congratulations to these new officers: President Timmy Koon, Vice Presdient Jimmy Lucas, Secretary Mary Ann Sease, Treasurer Dale Swygert, Trustees O’Neal Sessions, Frank Whittle, and Phillip Lucas, and Building Chair Dan Tinman.

New members welcomed to the club are: India Smith and Brenda Keisler. Members recognized for birthdays in January are Joyce Bolin, Dwight Price, Herbert Long, Jr. Tom Clemmer, Jettie Derrick, Barbara Mer-curio, Ernie Rice, and Margaret Frick. Nancy and Herbert Long, Jr. were recognized for their January anniversary. Jean and Jimmy Smith, Sarah and Wendell Evans, and Pat and Monroe Fulmer were recognized for preparing the January meal. Members planned their upcoming fundraiser, which will be a Chicken Bog in March.

The Hollow Creek Community Club welcomes new members. Meetings are the second Thursday, of each month at 7 pm, 2701 Priceville Road. For information, call Dale Swygert at 892-6501.

Congratulations to new parents Anthony and Bridget Spirito on the birth of daughter Adaline Jade Spirito, and to Derrick and Carrie Smith on the birth of daughter Ella Mae Smith.

Pond Branch United Methodist Church will begin a Bible study January 30 entitled “The Epic of Eden.” This study will be led by the Rev. Drew Martin for 12 weeks and will provide insight and understanding of the Old Testament and how it lays the foundation for the New Testament. The cost is $25, and includes the study guide. Health Occupations Students of America alumni from Gilbert High School are invited to a HOSA meeting February 26 at 6:30 pm. HOSA students who are presently in college and majoring in something related to healthcare sciences are asked to attend. GHS will have a panel discussion of college life and how to get into college. History of the Loch Ness Monster, will be presented by Lt. Colonel John Miles, USMC retired, at the Gilbert-Summit Branch Library January 22 at 5:30 pm. The monster of Scottish folklore inhabits Loch Ness in the Scottish Highlands. For information, call 785-5387.
