Our Gilbert-Summit Library has a good selection of Halloween-themed books for children to borrow. This week the Tween Extreme enrollees were treated to “Cooking with EdVenture.” The

students enjoyed a tasty, hands-on cooking lesson with EdVenture’s Nutrition Lab Coordinator. On Halloween at 6 pm, the library will offer Spooky Lanterns. Enrollees will create an illuminating hands-on spooky lantern using ping pong balls and tea lights.

Last week was National School Lunch Week. Gilbert Middle School honored cafeteria staff for all of their hard work to feed the students.

Congratulations to GMS Teacher of the Year Bridgette Lim. She is a speech teacher and was honored with a huge cake and a dozen roses. Other GMS Teacher of the Year finalists were Nicole Amick, Neil Yongue, Melissa Hooker, and Trevor Anderson. Congratulations to Gilbert High School Teacher of the Year Dani Stroud.
