The old adage says, “April showers bring May flowers,” I think that November-March showers may also bring lots of Mayflowers. Shake the dirt off your shovels, hoes, and gardening tools and start planning those vegetables, fruits, and flowers!

What do you know about Irish and Scottish history in Columbia? Come to the Dutch Fork Historical Society March 30 at 6 pm to hear Tom Elmore present this fascinating history of the “Luck of the Irish” in our capital city. Everyone is welcome!

Onions and more onions are coming your way, thanks to the Chapin Ruritan Club. They are taking orders for sweet Vidalia Georgia Onions--10 lb. bag $10, 25 lb. bag $20. Delivery will be around the first week in May. This project supports student scholarships, Boys Farm, Youth Baseball, Relay for Life, and other outreach programs in the community.
